Koordina exists to make Filipino commutes lighter by connecting people who share the same road. That mission only works if everyone in the community uses the platform with honesty and respect — toward each other, and toward the spirit of what we're building together.
This Usage Policy explains what Koordina is for, what it isn't for, and what happens when someone misuses it. We've kept the language plain on purpose — this isn't a legal document, it's a community agreement.
Koordina is a free, community-run platform for Filipinos who want to share rides along their regular routes. Here's what that looks like in practice:
Share a route you already drive — like "QC to BGC, Mon–Fri, 7 AM" — so others going the same way can reach out.
Browse posted routes and connect with drivers whose path overlaps with yours. You coordinate directly — we just help you find each other.
Use our cost estimates as a reference to guide informal, voluntary cost-sharing conversations between you and your fellow commuters.
Find the same people week after week, build familiarity, and ease each other's daily grind over time.
Flag road closures, bad traffic days, alternate routes, or safety tips that make everyone's commute better.
Fewer cars on the road is better for the environment. Every shared ride is a small act for the planet.
Some uses fall clearly outside what this platform is designed for. These aren't edge cases — they undermine the trust that makes Koordina work.
Koordina is not a TNVS, ride-hailing app, or dispatch platform. Charging passengers a fixed fare for a service is prohibited.
Cost-sharing should cover fuel, not generate income. Using Koordina to run a commercial transport operation violates this policy.
Fake routes, incorrect schedules, or bait-and-switch arrangements are not allowed and will result in removal.
All members deserve to feel safe. Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior of any kind is grounds for immediate removal.
This platform is strictly for individual, private commuters — not businesses, fleets, agencies, or organized transport networks.
Contact details and location information shared here are for ride coordination only. Using them for any other purpose is prohibited.
Not everything is black and white. Here are some common questions:
Yes — toll fees are a direct, shared cost of the trip. Asking for a contribution is in the spirit of cost-sharing. Just keep it proportional and voluntary.
The cost estimate is a guideline, not a ceiling. If a passenger chooses to contribute more out of goodwill, that's between you and them. What's not okay is setting a mandatory fare or advertising a price.
Only the actual driver should post a ride. Posting on someone else's behalf creates confusion and potential safety risks. The person driving needs to be accountable for the trip.
If you're transporting strangers for money as a regular activity — even informally — that's a commercial arrangement and falls outside what Koordina is designed for.
Take a moment to check profiles, read community history, and trust your instincts before confirming a ride with anyone.
Share your pickup location, estimated arrival, and the driver's details with a trusted contact before you leave.
If a member behaves unsafely or dishonestly, report them immediately. You protect the next person when you speak up.
Koordina does not screen, verify, or vouch for any member — and we want to be upfront about that. We're a small platform, not a security service. The judgment calls are yours to make. Exercise the same care you would meeting any stranger, and use ratings and community history as your guide.
Koordina is built on the idea that trust should be earned — not assumed. Rather than relying on a central authority to vouch for members, we're building toward a system where the community itself does the vouching.
Koordina is still in its early development phase and is maintained by a single developer. There is no formal moderation team or automated enforcement system yet. Trust is built the old-fashioned way: through ratings, consistency, and showing up for your fellow commuters.
We're working toward an open KYC (Know Your Community) system — where trusted, long-standing members can vouch for and verify newer ones. This isn't a background check service; it's the community deciding who it trusts, together.
A consistent rating of 4 stars or above shows the community trusts riding with you.
At least 20 completed rides demonstrates you're an active, reliable member — not just an account.
Karma is accumulated through good rides, good ratings, and positive community interactions. Reach the threshold and you unlock the ability to vouch for others.

Koordina is currently a small, community-first project. There is no large enforcement team. Violations are handled as transparently and fairly as possible — but the platform's biggest safeguard right now is the community itself. Ratings, reports, and karma all matter.
For first-time or minor violations, you may receive a warning flagging the issue. This is always the first step for anything non-severe.
Ride listings that clearly violate this policy will be taken down. Your account remains active, but the offending post does not.
Severe or repeated violations — harassment, commercial misuse, fraudulent listings — may result in permanent removal. This is a last resort, not a first response.
As the community grows and the KYC system matures, enforcement will shift progressively from a single point of oversight toward collective community governance. The goal is a platform that polices itself — because the people in it care about keeping it good.
As the Koordina community grows, so will the situations we need to address. We'll update this policy when the community's needs change, when new use cases emerge, or when we find our guidance needs more clarity.
