Everything you need to know about using Koordina

🤔 General Questions
What is Koordina?

Koordina is a free, community-driven platform that helps Filipino commuters connect and share rides along their regular routes. We're not a ride-hailing service like Grab — instead, we help people who are already driving the same route find each other and coordinate voluntary ride-sharing.

How does Koordina work?

Drivers post their regular routes (like "QC to BGC, Mon-Fri, 7 AM") and passengers can browse these routes to find ones that match their commute. When you find a good match, you contact the driver directly to coordinate pickup details. We just help you find each other — everything else is up to you.

Is Koordina safe?

Safety is your responsibility. We provide a platform for people to connect, but you should always use your best judgment. Meet in public places, share your trip details with someone you trust, and don't hesitate to cancel if something doesn't feel right. Remember — you're not required to accept any ride or passenger.

💰 Money & Payments
Do you collect payments or process transactions?

No, absolutely not. Koordina does not handle money in any way. We don't process payments, collect fees, or facilitate any financial transactions. Any cost-sharing between drivers and passengers is a private arrangement between them.

Do you accept donations or charge fees?

As of now, no. Koordina is completely free to use and we don't accept donations. We don't take any commissions or fees from rides either. The platform is funded independently to keep it free for the Filipino commuting community.

What are the cost estimates for?

The cost estimates you see are just for awareness — to give you an idea of fuel costs for the trip. They're not fares, required payments, or enforceable fees. Whether and how much passengers contribute is entirely up to the people involved in the ride.

How much should I pay for a shared ride?

That's between you and the driver. Some people split fuel costs proportionally, others contribute what they can afford, and some drivers don't ask for anything at all. The key is that any payment should be voluntary and agreed upon beforehand. Use our cost estimates as a starting point for the conversation.

📋 Rules & Guidelines
Who can use Koordina?

Individual Filipino commuters who want to share rides with others going the same direction. This platform is NOT for commercial drivers, TNVS operators, transport fleets, or anyone trying to run a business. It's strictly for personal, non-commercial ride-sharing.

Can I use Koordina to make money?

No. Koordina is for cost-sharing, not profit-making. If you're trying to operate as a for-hire driver, charge fixed fares, or run a transport business, this platform isn't for you. Cost-sharing should cover expenses like fuel and tolls — not generate income.

What happens if I break the rules?

Depending on the violation, we may warn you, temporarily suspend your account, or permanently remove you from the platform. Serious violations like harassment, commercial operation, or fraud will result in immediate removal.

Can I post a ride on behalf of someone else?

No. Only the actual driver should post their ride. This ensures accountability and safety — passengers need to know they're communicating directly with the person who will be driving.

⚙️ Using the Platform
How do I contact drivers or passengers?

When you view a ride that interests you, you'll see the contact information of the person who posted it. Reach out to them directly through their preferred method (usually phone or text) to coordinate the details.

What personal information gets shared?

Only basic information like your name and phone number that's necessary for ride coordination. We don't share payment information (because we don't collect it) or unnecessary personal details. Your contact info is only visible to other users when they're viewing your rides.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can request account deactivation and data archival at any time. Contact us and we'll help you with the process.

How many stops can I add to my route?

You can add up to 3 stops between your starting point and destination, for a total of 5 locations on your route. This keeps routes simple and manageable for everyone involved.

⚖️ Legal & Liability
Is Koordina responsible if something goes wrong during a ride?

No. We provide a platform for people to connect, but we're not responsible for what happens during the actual rides. Users are responsible for their own safety, following traffic laws, ensuring their vehicles are roadworthy, and making good decisions.

What about insurance coverage?

Drivers are responsible for ensuring their vehicle has proper insurance coverage. Check with your insurance provider about coverage during ride-sharing. Koordina doesn't provide any insurance coverage for rides.

Is ride-sharing through Koordina legal?

Yes, when done properly. Voluntary ride-sharing between private individuals is legal. What's NOT legal is operating as a commercial transport service without proper permits. Make sure you're sharing rides, not running a transport business.

Together, let's ease traffic.

One shared ride at a time.
